The brown set is the easiest of all of the colour sets to complete in McDonalds Monopoly in the UK.

You only need to collect two pieces to win. So, if you collect both Old Kent Road and Whitechapel Road, you’ll win a McDonalds meal.

In this guide, I’ll tell you some key info that you need to know to stand a chance of completing the brown set. I’ll also explain exactly what you can choose as your ‘selected meal’ if you do win. And, importantly, how to claim your prize.

Which is the Rare Brown McDonalds Monopoly Piece?

The key thing to know about McDonalds Monopoly game pieces is that there are rare stickers and common stickers. The rare stickers limit how many prizes can be won. For example, in 2023 there were only five Mayfair stickers, so that’s the maximum number of people that can win the top prize of £100,000.

With the brown colour set, Old Kent Road is the rare McDonalds sticker. There are millions of Whitechapel Road stickers, but trying to find an Old Kent Road to go with it can be a little harder.

How Many Whitechapel and Old Kent road Stickers Are There in McDonalds Monopoly?

In 2023 there were 2 million Old Kent Road (M500) stickers in McDonalds Monopoly. We don’t know exactly how many Whitechapel Road (M501) stickers there were, but it’s even more than that.

So, even though Old Kent Road is technically a rare piece, you still have plenty of chances to find them. Whichever brown piece you peel back, you should scan it with your phone and upload it to your Monopoly Wallet in the My McDonalds app.

Scanning your gamepieces not only keeps them safe, but it also gives you an extra chance to win by giving you a ‘digital peel’ in addition to your physical peels.

How to Claim the Prize with Brown Stickers in McDonalds Monopoly

When you have both of the brown McDonalds Monopoly pieces, you can claim your meal by handing the winning pieces to a crew member at the counter or drive-thru, or by scanning them into the MyMcDonalds app and ordering your food in the app or at the self-service kiosk.

If you’re ordering in person with a crew member, you should let them know that you plan to use Monopoly tokens before you place your order.

Whatever you do, make sure that you claim your prize before you share your success on social media. In 2019, someone had their chicken nuggets stolen after posting a photo of the winning Monopoly piece on Snapchat.

A McDonald’s spokesperson said: “It’s great to see people taking part in Monopoly at McDonald’s and celebrating their wins on social media. We would advise that customers claim their prize before they share their game piece code online.”

Can You Make it Large?

Unfortunately, you can’t upgrade your free McDonalds meal to large, even if you pay the difference. Plus, if you select a sugary drink like Coca-Cola, rather than the Zero or Diet versions, you’ll have to pay an additional charge for the Government’s sugar tax.

How Many McDonalds Stickers Can You Use at Once?

You’re allowed to claim one McDonalds food prize per person, per visit. So, if you also have an instant win such 6 chicken McNuggets or a Double Cheeseburger, then you can’t add this to your order with the free meal if you’re alone. But, if there are two of you, then you can.
